Soil Type The northern two-thirds of this paddock has a grey loam above heavy yellow clay described as Denison Clay Loam (De) inThe bottom third along the southern boundary has a free draining red soil described as Tinamba Soils (Ti) in the same publication.
Description This paddock is a consolidation of two smaller paddocks and drains west to east along the southern boundary.Runoff is picked up by a drain on the eastern end of the paddock and travels to the re-use dam at the eastern end of the property.The western half of this paddock was sown to Matrix perennial ryegrass and the eastern half to Revolution perennial ryegrass in 2008.
Irrigation System This paddock was originally set up for flood irrigation but was converted to sub-surface drip irrigation in 2008 as part of an extensive trial. Drip tapes are buried 200mm deep at a tape spacing of 800mm and an emitter spacing of 500mm. (See project reports for further details)
